You don't pass the SKS exam by watching, but by being able to sail and learning. For this reason, our training trips in the Canary Islands, a demanding area, are limited to 5 participants plus skipper per boat. Other schools may be a little cheaper, but we are often talking about crews of 8 or more. There are 10 hours of sailing in a day, and even having lots of sailors on board doesn't change that. We therefore achieve many more maneuver repetitions than other schools, which is reflected in the exam results and therefore works well in a week.

Our sailing school's SKS training trips also take place in the Canary Islands. We start on Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro or La Palma. The 300 nautical miles required for the exam are sailed on our boating school's trip. The trip participants learn everything they need to successfully pass the practical exam. Here we also cover theoretical topics on board, such as weather and seamanship or safety and technology on the ship. No previous theoretical or practical knowledge is required. The practical exam can be taken before the theoretical exam. The Rhine-Moselle boating school works with reliable charter companies. We have yachts in good technical condition and only train with skippers with many years of experience. TO THE EXAM

For the SKS you must be in possession of a recreational boating license for sea Admission to the recreational coastal skipper's license from 16 years of age Proof of 300 nautical miles (we sail on the trip) The practical trip to the Canary Islands lasts from Saturday 2 p.m. to the following Saturday 9 a.m. The exam then takes place on Thursdays or Fridays Examination authority: DSV - Abroad It is irrelevant whether you want to start with the theory or the practice Once you have passed a partial exam, a two-year period begins within which you must take the last partial exam Examination costs and fees will be announced by DSV Abroad and invoiced after registration
